Ingredients for the Batter

To create the Milo and banana pancake batter, you'll need the following ingredients:

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 heaped tablespoons of Milo (or more for taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bananas Start by peeling and slicing the two bananas. This step is crucial for achieving a smooth and creamy batter.
  2. Blend Bananas and Milk Place the banana slices in a blender along with the half-cup of milk. Blend until you achieve a silky-smooth consistency. This ensures that the bananas are fully incorporated into the batter.
  3. Add the Remaining Ingredients Once you have a creamy banana mixture, transfer it to a mixing bowl. Now, add the egg, half-cup of flour, and the two heaped tablespoons of Milo. The Milo will give the pancakes a unique flavour and deeper pancake colour.
  4. Mix Well Stir the ingredients together until they are fully combined. You should have a thick and luscious pancake batter with a yummy Milo aroma.
  5. Create Spaghetti Shapes Now comes the fun part! To mimic the appearance of spaghetti, you'll need a squeeze bottle or a cleaned-out sauce bottle with a small nozzle. Fill the bottle with the pancake batter.
  6. Cook the Pancakes Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a bit of oil or butter. Squeeze the pancake batter from the bottle in a spiral shape. You can make them as thin or as thick as you like. Wait for the pancakes to cook through entirely before flipping them. This will ensure that they are cooked evenly and have a golden-brown colour.
  7. Serve with Your Favourite Toppings Once the spaghetti pancakes are ready, it's time to get creative with the toppings. You can go for classic choices like maple syrup, fresh berries, or a dollop of whipped cream. Let your kids decide – the possibilities are endless!
